My all-time favourite AV actress, Mizuna Rei, celebrates her 40th birthday this week! As mentioned in my profile of her, Rei's real age was revealed a decade ago, when she turned 30 (she had originally claimed to be three years younger).
RCT-695 was released by studio Rocket some months later, in January 2015. It not only stars Rei but was also directed by her. As the title suggests, the whole video is based around the deception of Rei's age.
The video's tongue-in-cheek style is exemplified by its first scene. Rei holds a press conference in which she very seriously reveals her true age, bowing deeply to the cameras in apology. But then she hikes up her skirt and shows us her beautiful behind. She gets her tits out, and then proceeds to give us jerk-off instruction. As the press conference draws to a close, the camera cuts to a shot showing the journalists, all in a daze with their trousers down and cocks out. In the next shot, Rei is portraying a news anchor, delivering this shocking news whilst nonchalantly ignoring the guy cumming on her hair and face.
Next, Rei is interviewed by her AVOP-063 co-star Itsuki Karin about why she had previously been using a false age and why she was now using her real age. This is followed by a drama scene starring both Rei and Karin in which they meet for the first time since they were at school together, when Karin had a crush on Rei. It's a very sweet scene with a great pairing.
The video also includes a scene in which Rei is dressed in a traditional kimono and looks very elegant. In contrast, the final sex scene is a point-of-view scene in which Rei wears her own clothes.
Also featured is a short clip of Arimura Chika commenting on Rei's directorial debut. Chika herself similarly directed a video, which would be released the following month.
The video ends with about ten minutes of behind-the-scenes footage. It's great to see Rei giving instructions in the role of director. Once they've wrapped up, they go off for hot-pot. Gorō makes an appearance here, chats with Rei, and they pull goofy faces.
If I were to nitpick, I noticed a few gaffes in the video (a microphone visible in one shot and a couple of dialogue tracks overlapped), but this is such a unique and fun video that gives us a lot of insight into Rei's thoughts, that it truly is special to me. It's arguably the most Rei video ever produced. If you're a Rei fan like me, this is a must-watch.
