R18.dev: 'Top' rankings – January 2025 edition

It's been exactly a year since the last time I updated the R18.dev homepage with the most prolific actresses, studios, categories and directors.

Let's see how it now looks, as of 2025-01-24:

Top actresses

  1. Yui Hatano (11,942 videos; no change)
  2. Yumi Kazama (9,171 videos; no change)
  3. Yu Kawakami (8,142 videos; no change)
  4. Hibiki Otsuki (7,894 videos; no change)
  5. Reiko Sawamura (6,611 videos; no change)
  6. Mao Hamasaki (6,491 videos; up from #8)
  7. Yu Shinoda (6,290 videos; down from #6)
  8. Chisato Shoda (5,987 videos; up from #9)
  9. Tsubomi (5,884 videos; down from #7)
  10. Kurea Hasumi (5,331 videos; no change)

This year marks 20 years since Chisato debuted. She's been regularly pumping out new videos, so it's no surprise she's gained a spot. It's interesting to see that Mao has jumped up a couple of spots. Although she has now retired from AV, she does have some releases outstanding, but I reckon it's all downhill from here, in terms of this ranking. Yū has been retired for a couple of years now, so it's no surprise she went down one spot. Tsubomi, who retired a bit further back, was once top of this ranking, but has now dropped a couple of places. Will she still be on this ranking this time next year?

All the studios on this ranking have been pumping out videos at much the same rate, so there's very little change other than Glory Quest and Ruby swapping places.

There is absolutely no change here at all. It looks like there haven't been any major changes to which genres studios are making videos of.

Not too much change here, although Kitorune Kawaguchi managed to get a bit of a lead over Kyosei.

All in all, things look much the same as last year. Will there be much shift this time next year? We shall have to wait and see…
