To celebrate their 10th anniversary in 2013, studio Madonna released an epic six hour long feature JUX-215 with an all-star cast.
Directed by Kitorune Kawaguchi and filmed on 29th and 30th July, it is set in a small town where a festival is held every ten years. Each of the women in this town belongs to one of two factions: the Abalone group and the Wakame group. The men hold an election, and the winning team receive special privileges. Thus, the women go all out to win the men over to their side.
Miura Eriko heads up the Abalone group and is joined by Shōda Chisato, Hōjō Maki, Makihara Reiko and Komori Ai. Meanwhile, Aida Nana leads the Wakame group which also features Murakami Ryōko, Yūki Misa and Kazama Yumi.
The video is filmed on a set that looks like a traditional rural village (so traditional, in fact, that the homes have rotary phones), which really gives you the sense of a living community. Shiraki Yūko also stars as a woman who has just moved to the village with her husband. There are regular cuts to Tomoda Maki, who plays the "legendary Madonna" giving an interview and acts as a sort of storyteller.
This is clearly not a small budget production. There is not only a wide variety of sex scenes, but quite a lot of drama. The highlight of the film is the night of the festival, where the whole cast don their happi coats and dance to a bespoke, upbeat song.
If that wasn't enough, after the main feature is an hour long behind-the-scenes documentary including interviews with the cast. They really pulled out all the stops.
This was a fantastic production to celebrate a wonderful first decade of this beloved studio. And over a decade since then, Madonna are still going strong today.
