This is a review of a video I watched as part of the Soapy JAV Challenge, in which one must watch 20 JAVs between 15th September and 15th October. This is video 13 of 20.
EKDV-355 is a 2013 video from studio Crystal Eizō, directed by Ōta Kenichi. It stars Arimura Chika, one of my favourite performers of that era.
In this video, Arimura Chika (one of my favourite performers of that era) cosplays as four different characters. Half of them I don't recognise, but the other two are Nibutani Shinka from Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai! and Ranka Lee from Macross Frontier.
Update: I've been informed that the first cosplay is of Aigis from Persona 3.
There is a similar format for each of the four characters. First, a photoshoot where we see a photographer take still photos as Chika poses. It's nice to see this behind-the-scenes style content integrated into the video. Then, a brief dramatic skit. These are quite low effort, but it's nice to see Chika in character. And finally, the sex scene (or the masturbation scene in the case of Ranka Lee).
Although the production feels somewhat low budget, the costumes are pretty good. I especially enjoyed Chika's portrayal of Ranka Lee in which she dances and mimes a song. I tried to match up some of Ranka's songs with the footage as I did with COSQ-006, but alas I couldn't quite get them to fit.
This is a serviceable cosplay video. Don't watch this expecting a lot of drama, but if you appreciate the act of cosplay in and of itself, this may be one to check out.
